An Unusual Case of Submucosal Cyst of the Stomach

Abstract

|
Recently, the author experienced a case of submucosal cyst of the stomach which known as rare and it was successfully treated by surgery.
This 10 month-old boy, who complained of intermittent postprandial projectile vomiting for 15 days, was admitted. A laparotomy was done under the clinical diagnosis of a benign, gastric tumor and local excision through the gastrotomy was performed. The smooth well -defined soft cyst (3. 5 cm in diameter) arise from the posterior wall of the gastric antrum submucosally was removed and confirmed as a submucosal type of the enterogenous cyst lined by single layer of columnar epithelium of the stomach.
A brief summary of literature was reviewed.
